Scarce book displaying the best in nineteenth century aesthetic movement design in twenty-four brightly colored table designs, "with classified lists of suitable plants, berries, and leaves." In addition to several examples of daily table settings for dinner and luncheon, there are special table settings for the wedding breakfast table, cricket luncheon table, harvest home dinner table, hunt breakfast table, and Christmas dinner table. John Perkins was head gardener for twenty-nine years to Lord Henniker of Thornham Hall, Suffolk. In original boards with fine aesthetic printed design on green paper. Small discreet blind library stamp of "W. H. Smith & Son Library" on front blank leaf, else very good.
