Rare lithographic printed specimen sample book.  OCLC records one other comparable work by J.F. Lawrence in the Chicago Historical Society, and nothing else.  J.F. Lawrence was established in 1868 and produced a wide range of lithographic labels for clients throughout the United States.  This sample book features 140 examples of their work for pharmacies (prescription blanks), medicine bottle and pill box labels, etc.  One sheet of sixteen labels in chromolithography.  Includes a price and size list and samples of type sizes.  Some minor discoloration to light salmon colored wrappers, else very good.
