Miller's little volume (first publised in 1731) was one of the most popular English gardening books in colonial America as well as in England.  Among prominent Virginia owners were William Byrd, George Washington, St. George Tucker of Williamsburg, John Mercer of Marlborough, Charles Carter of Shirley, and Thomas Jefferson.  Early owner's signature on title page.  Some cover wear.
