(JUVENILE) TUCK, Raphael, & Sons. MY MODEL HOUSE. COMPLETE WITH EVERYTHING FOR FURNISHING.
(London): Raphael Tuck & sons, (1952). Oblong quarto. Original color pictorial paper covered boards, cloth spine. (16) pages of letterpress and color full-page illustrations.
Rare juvenile item with only two copies recorded on OCLC, and none in the U.S. A children's book about moving into a new house. The "Everything" mentioned in the title on sheets that needed to be cut out and placed where indicated in each of the six empty rooms. All of the items in this copy have already been carefully cut out and equally carefully put into place with glue (one chair akilter, though perhaps at a later date). What is of particular interest is that this "house in the country' is modern in style, as are the furnishings. The publishing company was established in 1866 in London by a Prussian immigrant, Raphael Tuck, producing its first Christmas greeting card in 1871. Minor rubbing and wear at covers.
