(TRADE CATALOGUE) CAMBIER FRERES, L. & H. MEUBLES & SIEGES L & H.C.F.
(Paris: Berger & Javal, circa 1880). Oblong 4to. Original red cloth decorated and lettered in gilt. 122 lithographed plates, of which 107 contain illustrations, plates 108-122 remain blank (presumably for other items to be laid in as they were added to the range).
Rare trade catalogue not recorded on OCLC. In 1880 Emanuel Cambier, together with his two sons, founded a company for the production of furniture similar to the famous Thonet furniture. Some of these chairs and seats are depicted on plates 31 to 33 (including several chairs specially designed for children). The remaining plates depict traditional furniture used at the end of the nineteenth century, including many types of chairs (including an elegant series of folding chairs); cradles, chairs, and carriages for children; as well as sofas, beds, sideboards, wardrobes, tables, etc. Small water stain at front cover. Blank endpapers slightly browned. One plate with small fault. Otherwise a near fine copy.
