LES DELICES DE WINDSORE: OR, A DESCRIPTION OF WINDSOR CASTLE

(GUIDE BOOK)  (POTE, Joseph).  LES DELICES DE WINDSORE: OR, A DESCRIPTION OF WINDSOR CASTLE.

Eton: J. Pote, 1769. 12mo. Contemporary mottled calf. Frontispiece, (xii), 152, (4) pages, 4 plates, of which 2 folding.  Third edition.

Scarce with no copies of this edition recorded on OCLC in American libraries. This guide book, first published in 1755 in a smaller version, gives detailed descriptions of the Royal Apartments, St. George's Chapel, and the paintings in each room with a detailed fold-out plan of the castle grounds.  There is also a guide to the town of Windsor and surrounding country, and an appendix with ceremonies for the Order of the Garter in St. George's Chapel.  Four pages of publisher advertisements are bound-in.  Professionally respined, else very good.
