(WRIGHT) WRIGHT, Frank Lloyd. V.C. MORRIS.
N.L: n.p., (circa 1950). 4to. Wrappers. (12) pages.
A rare and uncommon Wright item with only three copies recorded on OCLC in American libraries and one in Canada. A photographic booklet on the famous V.C. Morris gift shop in San Francisco designed by Wright in 1948 with an introductory essay "A word from the owners--Mr. and Mrs. V.C. Morris;" and another essay by Edgar Kaufmann on "The Morris Shop." The store was used by Wright as a physical prototype, or proof concept for the circular ramp at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York a decade later. With ephemera laid in and the original mailing envelope. Signed by the owner "Hugh Mercer, 17 Aug. 1953." Very good.
